Habitat for Humanity Day
(2008-04-27) ABS Consultants is sponsoring a team effort at a Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver project in Commerce City for a day in May. Currently, twenty ABSers have signed on for volunteer activity. On that day, May 14, we'll be short-handed around the office with only a skelton crew to handle business.

Blood Drive for Bonfils Blood Center
(2008-03-12) ABS Consultants hosted a blood drive for Bonfils Blood Center on Tuesday, March 11. A big Thank You goes out to all of those that signed up and donated blood yesterday for Bonfils Blood Center. We had a great mix of in-house and out-of-house contributors. Out of 27 potential donors, 24 units of blood were donated. Unfortunately, three willing volunteers were not able to pass the screening process for one of many strict conditions that exist. Those 24 units will go on to help 72 patients with their need for blood.

Food Drive for Food Bank of the Rockies
(2008-02-03) ABS Consultants is sponsoring a drive for Food Bank of the Rockies. It's Mechanical & Plumbing versus Electrical, Adminstrative & CAD groups in a race to fill two barrels of with food. We're off to a great start with the EAC barrel nearly full and MP barrel coming up quickly. Manufacturer representatives are encouraged to bring canned and dry food products instead of doughnuts and bagels to drop into their respective barrels to help either the EAC or MP teams in their attempt to smother the competiton.

(2008-02-06) The Food Drive is cruising at full speed. The MP Team has surged ahead the EAC Team with numerous boxes and several bags of cans and dry food products. Both barrels are full and goods are stacking up along side. Another pair of barrels might be in order to keep the hallway clear.

(2008-02-09) Great changes are happening. The EAC Team boosted their food donations into a near tie with the MP Team. Four more barrels were brought in by the Food Bank. By unpacking the boxed can goods, four barrels are nearly full of food. Remaining boxed dry food products are sitting alongside. The week ahead will be interesting to see if we can fill all six barrels. Pretty good effort for thirty-two people.

(2008-02-15) The final few days of our Food Drive Contest has really heated up. Various staff members have been dropping in a bag or two throughout each day. On this last day, the drive has truly hit the hot button. Both teams have been doing their best to fill all six barrels with food before the end. Just before lunch, a person rolled in a hand truck fully loaded with boxes of canned vegetables and fruit for the MP Team - their barrels are filled. Rumor has it that the EAC Team has a trick or two ready to fill their barrels also. It's looking like the contest might end up in a dead-heat and we'll all benefit from knowing others will have the food they need so desparately.

(2008-02-16) The Food Drive is complete. All six barrels are filled! And there are boxes of dry food products stacked alongside the barrels. Fanstatic effort by the staff and friends of the company. It will be great to see the food head to the shelves of the Food Bank. Next Month: Blood Drive!

(2008-02-23) On Wednesday, the Food Bank staff dropped by with two four wheel carts and were able to load all six barrels plus the dry food cases.
